Time to begin!

I've had a busy week as I'm sure most of you have as well. It can be difficult to fit detoxing in with all of your other activities. But even if you're only able to do a little bit at a time just keep working on it and you will see some changes and learn things about yourself and your body. I finally meal planned for the week today and have purchased the supplements I need. Now just a few things to get tomorrow food-wise. I actually am looking forward to the structure, getting a break from some of my constant desires, like sugar. Sugar just causes more want for sugar and you'll find if you stop it you may get a little more hungry at first and then less hungry after a couple days with the chance of losing a little bit of weight (which I'd like to do)!  So be positive and let's get going!  Please post comments or questions or send me an email. Would love to hear your progress and stories!

  1. In October 2015, I went to my doctor with complaints of horrible intestinal ramps. We talked about gut health, and he mentioned a book called The Brain Maker. I Google it and it seemed interesting. Along with that The Skinny Gut Diet caught my eye. I bought both. Basically they both talk about how our health is directly tied to our gut and it's good and bad bacteria. If you feed the good and starve the bad, you will not only feel better, but you will loose weight. The basic principles are eat lots of veggies, protein at every snack and meal, eat yogurt because it contains good bacteria, take a probiotic, and drink a lot of water. Also avoid processed sugar, alcohol, and complex carbohydrates. I started a modified version of this November 1, 2015, and I've lost 39 pounds to date. I feel great! My intestinal issues have disappeared, I sleep better, I haven't had a cold or the flu, and my residual shingles pain in my shoulders has resided. One of the best things is that my cravings have gone away. I had no Halloween or Christmas candy and it was no big deal. I lost weight over Thanksgiving and Christmas.
I still have a lot of weight to lose, but this is a lifestyle change that I can follow forever.
